Before: Beyond

In a moment of danger, it is helpful to know where to go. This collection of photographs plays on the fact that multiple directions can be just as useless as the absence of them, if not more so. What is safe? Are you actually ever safe? The exit sign is a symbol of safety as much as it is of danger. If there is an exit sign in the space, there is a possibility of threat. The directions to safety simultaneously represent expectations and preventions of the worst.
